For some reason I have always loved mechanical pencils. My favorite are the side click Pentels. But anyway, when I was bored in a class, I would love to take apart whatever mechanical pencil or pen I had into all the pieces, lay them out, examine them and reassemble them. They always have such interesting little parts and springs. I feel I get great pleasure out of examining the physical minutia of the world.

What a wonderfully, charming story. Someone designed that coat and would probably be thrilled that someone actually noticed the detail and the practicality of the work they did. It is great to still look at the world with a sense of wonder. I hope we all maintain some of our child like enthusiasm for seemingly mundane things. I am still thrilled to see any animal in nature. We have deer in our yard all the time and I was thinking the other day - when will I grow out of this fascination with deer? I just love to watch them. I am always thrilled when I see one up close. I even enjoy watching squirrels eat out of my bird feeder. Maybe we each have something different that thrills us - but isn't that what makes us all unique individuals? I think I will go check out my winter coat to see if there are any hidden pockets!
